Social Day for businesses

A Social Day combines teamwork with social engagement. Work together with your staff or fellow club members to organise a special day for older people and those in need of care at MÜNCHENSTIFT.

Whether through shared activities, outings, celebrations or small projects: by giving your time and commitment, you’ll create meaningful connections and special experiences – and, as a team, enjoy a day that will be remembered for years to come.

How to make your Social Day a success

Having a designated point of contact on both sides is particularly important on site throughout the planning and implementation phases, as details need to be finalised time and again right up to the end to ensure the event is a success for everyone involved.

Every Social Day requires a planning lead time of a good 8 weeks. This is the only way to ensure that all work steps and processes can be planned, prepared and carried out effectively.

Our volunteering coordinators will be happy to help you find a suitable event for your company or organisation. An introductory meeting and a visit to the relevant MÜNCHENSTIFT care home are also possible.

The event should, first and foremost, benefit the residents of the care home. The shared joy that arises from the joint activity is what usually leaves a lasting impression on your staff and remains in their memories for a long time afterwards.

A Social Day typically comprises 2 to 4 hours of activities with or for the residents. This is complemented by a supporting programme consisting of an introduction before the main activity and a reflection/wrap-up session afterwards.

A group of 12 staff members has proved to be the ideal number for organising a Social Day here. The number of residents taking part depends on the type of activity and the number of your staff members. A 1:1 support ratio has proven effective.

Should your company wish to organise an outing or an event involving additional costs such as admission fees, lunch away from the centre, etc., we are unfortunately unable to cover these costs ourselves as a care home and would rely on you to meet them.

Some of your colleagues or club members may feel a little apprehensive about interacting with older people or visiting a care home. It is therefore important that everyone involved knows from the outset what activity is planned and how they can get involved. Participation should be voluntary and enjoyable.
